Lactation guidance during a family home visit

Start with what feels difficult today.

You can ask for support when latching hurts, you are unsure about milk transfer, or pumping is not going as expected. Your consultation can also focus on prenatal preparation, bottle feeding, or returning to work. You do not need a perfect list of questions to get help.

During a home visit, Liz can observe a feed, review positioning, and discuss the equipment you use. Partners and support people can join so they understand the plan, too. The guidance takes account of your recovery, your baby, and what is manageable for your family.

Choose an at-home or virtual consultation.

A home visit lets you review your everyday feeding setup without packing for a trip with your baby. Share your address and confirm appointment availability and travel charges. You do not need to tidy the house or prepare a perfect feed. Keep your usual equipment and any notes you want to discuss nearby.

Virtual consultations are offered in 30-minute and 40-minute sessions. They can support feeding questions, pumping strategies, and prenatal preparation. If you are unsure which format to choose, explain your main concern before booking. Video support has different possibilities from an in-person visit.

At-home postpartum support, in English and Spanish.

Liz Chang, IBCLC, provides lactation consultations in English and Spanish. If you also want practical, nonmedical support with recovery and the transition home after birth, ask about her postpartum doula services.

A lactation consultation and the Medi-Cal doula benefit are separate services. Confirm your plan, eligibility, provider arrangements, and the services covered before care begins. Living in a listed service area does not by itself confirm Medi-Cal coverage.

Common questions

01Can I book a lactation consultant near me in Menlo Park?

Yes. Menlo Park is a listed service area for Liz Chang. Share your address to confirm home-visit availability, travel arrangements, and charges before booking. Appointments take place at your home, rather than a local office.

02Can my consultation be in Spanish?

Yes. Liz provides care in English and Spanish and is a certified medical interpreter and translator. Tell her your preferred language when arranging your appointment. Partners and support people are welcome.

03Are virtual consultations available?

Yes. Choose a 30-minute or 40-minute secure video consultation. Share your main concern first if you need help deciding between video and an in-person appointment.

04Does Medi-Cal cover my lactation consultation?

Do not assume a lactation consultation is covered under the doula benefit. Ask about postpartum doula services separately and confirm your plan, eligibility, provider arrangements, and covered services before care begins.

05Can I ask for help with combination feeding?

Yes. Liz supports breastfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, and combination feeding. Care starts with your goals and the routine your family is already using.
